It's going to get better. You'll be previewing a Michigan Bowl next season. Tate will get better, DR will find his spot and contribute more and Gardener will be forcing both of them to be flawless. The defense is returning other players though and will be better because they will have more experience and training. They won't be great, maybe not even good, but they will be better.
