I have been told that I am a part of a very few who don’t take umbrage with our loss to App. State. In fact, I’ve often times heard, “I’m the only one…” and “it matters to everyone else…” Everyone else I’m told includes other college football fans/alumni and the media (gasp!) So, not for nothing but it’s not necessarily the company I choose to keep anyway. I read an article that mentioned one of the AP voters from Tennessee had only dropped us to 16 because he was familiar with App. St. and said “they’re a good team.” And that’s what I often found myself repeating in the first half…that and “our guys look hungover!” Which, by vaguely remembering any of my bar tab’s at Rick’s, isn’t a terribly difficult thing to do on “penny pitcher” night.

Yes we lost. And there will be more, sometimes masked in victory, often times just showing up uninvited. We missed an opportunity September 1st and now we will fight to find another, mistakenly or not, we will attempt to make up for the previous chance that we didn’t take. Hoping that we’ll be tougher this time around or the next, trying to make up for what is already too late.

It’s easy to stay down so here are some quotes and ideas and such to try and brighten things up or at least bring some perspective to the situation…
