March 15, 2009: The doors to Crisler Arena were open for a Selection Sunday that ended an 11-year NCAA Tournament drought for the Michigan Basketball team. The 10th seeded Wolverines with a record of 20-13 headed to Kansas City and would go on to defeat Clemson before falling to Elite 8 bound Oklahoma in the 2nd round. North Carolina defeated Michigan State in the NCAA Finals that year at Ford Field. Michigan State has not returned to the final game since.

September 9, 2000. I can’t tell if they’re having a heart to heart of if they’re about to fight, but a crowd has gathered to witness whatever this is before Michigan pasted the Rice Owls 38-7. Game page is here. Speaking of owls, tomorrow marks the 1-year anniversary of an owl hanging out in my kitchen when I woke up…on Halloween.
