Weekend Roundup Hits the ATM
/- Kind of old news now, but Yahoo Sports clearly teamed up with ESPN OTL in what is obviously a zero evidence which hunt of the Spartans. So much disrespekt. The list of cheaters provided by Yahoo is long and distinguished, but includes details of cash to Miles Bridges mom. I'd like to say that they will have to vacate their recent victories against Michigan...but they don't have any. NCAA seems to be looking the other way anyway. I mean, Miles says it never happened, and Graham Couch, who certainly has a history of burning a few (couches, that is), says he believes him. Surprisingly, Michigan State got out ahead of this issue and did a full investigation months ago. Obviously, getting ahead of issues is not their strong suit of late. If it's sexual assault, they are a wait and see organization. If it's Miles Bridges might not be able to play, it's all hands on deck.
- In other cheater news, Louisville had their appeal denied, and they officially had to vacate the 2013 National Championship (which they won on a bullshit foul call on a Trey Burke clean block), Rick Pitino (remember when we tried to hire him?) thinks they should sue the NCAA. I like Greg Marshall's suggestion.
- Five key plays at UMHoops is my favorite recap/highlight reel after a hoops game. Here's the one from Saturday's drubbing of Maryland. Michigan is a 5-seed in the BTT, and projected as a 6-seed in the NCAAs on both CBS and ESPN.
- Off-Tackle Empire takes on the Big Ten tournament thread-style. There's some discussion of less motivation this year for the Maize and Blue due to already knowing they're in the tournament...but surely JB will be selling them on possibly moving up to a 3-seed.
- Big Ten Schedule and week-early Big Ten Tournament was stupid, says the guy who made it happen.
- I'm a big fan of swag. These boys have it. Side note: People really hate Mo Wagner.
- Drevno is out. Jimmy cut his best bud. More proof that all he wants to do is win. He was replaced, at least from an OL coaching perspective, by former Buckeye Ed Warriner, who shared (almost certainly without permission) the Spring Practice Schedule.
- Spring Training is underway, and I was really surprised how many Tigers I noticed on this lineup that for some reason has 2 center fielders and 2 3rd basemen. I thought we got rid of everybody?
